Global Connectivity estimation: Results
In this section, we present some results of applying this methodology
to the estimation of connectivity distributions from voxels in human
thalamus. Knowledge of thalamo-cortical connectivity is sparse in
human, but rich in primate. These results, and others, are analyzed,
interpreted and compared with the non-human literature in detail in
[8]. Here we present them as a first step toward
validation of probabilistic tractography as presented in this paper,
and evidence suggesting that connectivity studies are feasible with
diffusion weighted imaging, even between Gray matter structures.
